Is life really possible on mars?
According to Astrobiologists , there is possibility of life on mars because of its similarities to Earth. Till now, no aspect of pre-existing life has been found rather than scientists going for researches.
Taking back to ancient Noachian times, its said to have water surface area on Mars and may have been habitable for micro organism, such as methanogens but no evidence of such organisms has been found on Mars, until June 2019.
Mars has being a centre of attraction for scientists since 19s and various experiments has been made to follow up life on Mars. While early work focused on phenomenology and based on fantasy but at present time it is taken seriously and modern scientific inquiries has emphasized on search of water, chemical biosignatures in soil and rocks sediments, also with biogases in atmosphere.
Mars is well known for its extremely cold weather. It is said that wind blow there as it flake away identities of people. The average temperature leads from -81 degrees F to -220 degrees F. However in wintertime it reaches to +70 degrees F at poles over lower altitudes in summer.
In classical science fiction, Martian is a favourite character often consider as alien away from home invading Earth.
A well known English writer RAY BRADBURY in his book THE MARTIAN CHRONICLES said,
“There was a smell of Time in the air tonight. He smiled and turned the fancy in his mind. There was a thought. What did time smell like? Like dust and clocks and people. And if you wondered what Time sounded like it sounded like water running in a dark cave and voices crying and dirt dropping down upon hollow box lids, and rain. And, going further, what did Time look like? Time look like snow dropping silently into a black room or it looked like a silent film in an ancient theater, 100 billion faces falling like those New Year balloons, down and down into nothing. That was how Time smelled and looked and sounded. And tonight-Tomas shoved a hand into the wind outside the truck-tonight you could almost taste time.”
― Ray Bradbury, The Martian Chronicles
He also introduced fictional characters like Earth men being dark and golden eyed after living on Mars.
Many other astronauts and Psychologists have their sayings such as Buzz Aldrin, John Noble Wilford, Jon Stewart etc.
